Welcome from the
Graduate Dean

I am pleased that you are considering UC Riverside for your graduate work. As the fastest growing university in the University of California system, you would be joining our campus in an exciting period with unprecedented research and educational opportunities.  During this period of growth, we have hired outstanding faculty, we have developed new graduate programs, we have restructured other graduate programs, we have new research strengths across the campus and we have constructed new buildings that will provide faculty and graduate students with state-of-the-art facilities for their research and other creative activities.

UC Riverside has a proud tradition of close collegial relations between graduate students and faculty. Our faculty's goal is to provide our graduate students with the best academic training, the most thorough introduction to professional mores and practices, and to cultivate every opportunity for their future career success.

I urge you to visit our campus and meet the faculty and students in your prospective department, school or program. I think you will be pleasantly surprised by the accessibility of our distinguished researchers and teachers and by the close, mutually supportive relationship among graduate students.

I look forward to receiving your application and the opportunity to invite you to be among this University's best and brightest scholars.
